Broward Read for the Record 2026: Coconut Creek

This year's Broward: Read for the Record Day is February 26, 2026.
Join us in reading "See Marcus Grow" by Marcus Bridgewater and illustrated by Reggie Brown.
Celebrate literacy by participating in the largest shared reading experience! Jumpstart’s Read for the Record® campaign mobilizes millions of children and adults to celebrate literacy by sharing their passion for literacy with their community.
Join us on February 26, 2026 as we read together in big cities, small towns, and everywhere in between to put children first by shining a spotlight on the importance of high-quality early education. Locally, the Children’s Services Council of Broward County and Broward County Public Schools are coordinating Broward Reads for the Record.
On February 26th between 8:00 AM and 12 PM, volunteers are needed by childcare centers and elementary schools to read "See Marcus Grow" by Marcus Bridgewater to 40,000 students in 500 VPK centers, 225 schools, and 1,500 classrooms throughout Broward County!
When you sign up for this project, you will be asked to:
- select a school from the list of options below
- type in your current email address
- type your best contact phone number
- type in your zip code
The reading will not be a full 4-hour event from 8 AM- 12 PM. The start times for different locations will be finalized at a later date. The reading usually takes about an hour and most Elementary Schools will begin the reading around 8:00-8:30 AM. If the volunteers choose to read to a Child Care center or Charter School, the reading time may start later in the morning as late as 11 AM as their hours of operation may begin later.
Please note: You will be sent an automated email from our system upon sign-up. As the reading date approaches, you will be sent a personal email confirming the location and time of your reading with any additional information you may need.
