About the Program
The Literacy League is looking for volunteers to help promote summer reading at SummerBreak Spot sites throughout the community. Volunteers will help create positive literacy experiences that encourage children to stay engaged in reading throughout the summer months.
SummerBreak Spot Ambassadors will provide enrichment activities that support literacy, creativity, and educational engagement while helping children access valuable community resources.
Volunteer Responsibilities
- Read a book aloud to children participating at the site
- Promote community library and literacy resources available nearby
- Encourage children to participate in the Broward Libraries Summer Reading Program
- Engage youth through positive and supportive interactions
As a Summer BreakSpot Ambassador, flexibility is important. Attendance may vary by site, but every interaction makes a meaningful impact on literacy and engagement.
