September 2026 DIY: Hunger Action Totes
HandsOn South Florida is proud to dedicate this month’s DIY Project to Hunger Action Month. Across our community, many of our neighbors face the daily challenge of food insecurity. By coming together, we can raise awareness and help provide nutritious food for those in need.
Each month, The Pantry of Broward serves over 600 seniors and grand-families, ensuring they receive food boxes filled with both perishable and non-perishable items. For this DIY Project, volunteers are being asked to collect non-perishable food items and assemble Hunger Action Totes that will be delivered to The Pantry of Broward to support the families they serve.
PLEASE FOLLOW ALL STEPS (missing steps will delay hours verification process):

- Follow the instructions in the packet. These projects will be provided to real people who will use these items. We ask that you make a true effort to treat each kit with care, quality, and respect — just as you would if you were giving it to someone you know personally.
- Fill Out the DIY Documentation Form (THIS STEP IS REQUIRED)
- Mail or drop off your completed project to HandsOn South Florida. **
*Once you have expressed interest and accessed the instructions , you are free to begin the project and submit upon completion.*
**You do not need to be present when dropping off your project. Someone can drop it off on your behalf. Please make sure you complete the DIY Documentation Form. If you are shipping, try to have it arrive during our designated office hours since we operate on a hybrid schedule. **
DIY collection will be held on the following dates:
Wednesday, September 16th- 9AM-1PM
Monday, September 21st- 10AM-2PM
Thursday, September 24th- 10AM-2PM
Monday, September 28th- 10AM-2PM
Wednesday, September 30th- 10AM-2PM
The last day to drop off the DIY PROJECT will be Wednesday, September 30th.
Please drop off DIY projects at the HandsOn South Florida office, located at 5815-B North Andrews Way, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309. (Use Google Maps)
